Bestway filter pump – No Power

Normally this is an electrical issue. Please ensure that the filter pump is plugged directly into a mains socket and not into an extension lead. Please check the socket with other items to ensure this is not a problem with the socket itself.

Bestway filter pump – Flow Issues

Reasons	Solutions
Hose connections are blocked	Ensure hoses are clear from blockages and water is not being restricted by tight connections
Blockages	Ensure the stopper caps have been removed and ensure the debris screens are clear.
Dirty Filter	Check the filter cartridges are clean or replace
Cartridges	Check the filter cartridges are clean or replace

Bestway filter pump – Leaking water from the top of the pump unit

Seal is not aligned correctly. Check the placement of the seal to ensure this is in the correct place.

If seal has perished replacements can be purchased

Air trapped in pump	Perform air purge operation
Filter cartridge is dirty	Clean or replace cartridge
Blockages	Check debris screens and hose for blockages, once blockages removed perform air purge operation

The clamp is not tightened correctly	Tighten the clamp correctly

Reasons	Solutions
Filter cartridge is dirty	Clean the filter cartridge. If this is not possible, replace the filter cartridge. This needs to be replaced every 14 days/uses
The filter pump is smaller than the one required for your pool	Purchase the correct sized filter pump
The operating time of the filter pump is under 10 hours a day	Increase the operating time of the filter pump
The operating time is over 10 hours a day	Purchase chemicals (i.e. Chlorine, PH Increaser and Decreaser)

How Often Should I replace My Filter – Bestway Pump

General Maintenance

• Filters – The filter cartridge should be replaced every two weeks.
• Purging – This allows for all of the air to be removed from the pump. To purge the filter unit, unscrew the purge valve slightly, once the water starts escaping, tighten the valve.
• Cleaning – Filters will need to be changed regularly. The debris screens will need to be checked and cleaned on a regular basis.
