Great little bit of kit... until it breaks

My 3 year old boy loves this quad. However at 7 months the battery completely discharged and has not been able to hold more than 30mins worth of charge. it previously ran anywhere from 1-1.5hrs. Disappointingly, Outside play just referred to to their T&C's ref purchases over 6 months. No goodwill gesture made towards replacing the battery, which they advised I do. At this rate, 2 x batteries will be required per year (@ £40ea) to keep this running. When it works, it works well. Batteries let this model down!

CHEMCONNECT™ CHLORINE DISPENSER Included

WHAT IS CHEMCONNECT™ AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Bestway® ChemConnect™ is a chlorine dispenser that makes it easy and convenient to manage the treatment of the water with slow‑release chlorine tablets (or bromine) as an alternative to using chlorine granules.

Attaching to the inside of the Lay‑Z‑Spa, over the filtration outlet, ChemConnect™ provides an even distribution of chemicals and can be adjusted to decide the intensity of the release.

Designed for practicality, this is an easy way to manage chlorine levels in the water with tablets without a floating dispenser. However, you still need to carry out appropriate water treatment and testing making sure that pH and Total Alkalinity levels are balanced.

Bestway 56620 14ft power steel swimming pool 427x250x100cm

HOW TO USE THE CHEMCONNECT™

The chlorine dispenser separates into two parts and can accommodate tablets up to 20g or 2.54cm and can hold up to 4 tablets simultaneously.

Chem Connector

The quantity of tablets required depends on the size of your Bestway Pool and its volume of water. Please refer to the instructions on chemical packaging for quantity of tablets needed.

It is recommended that you test the water frequently and adjust the dispenser’s settings depending on your chlorine levels.

Please note: as the ChemConnect™ is designed for slow release, you still need to shock dose the water with chlorine or bromine granules.

PLEASE NOTE:

All filter pump units must be placed 2 metres away from the pool.

We recommend that filtration is turned OFF when the pool is in operation.

We recommend a smooth concrete slab as a suitable base- contact a reputable local builder for advice on local soil conditions.

Failure to set up the pool on a flat, level compact ground could result in the pool’s collapse or the possibility that a person lounging in the pool could be swept out.

Do not lean, straddle or exert pressure on the inflatable top ring or top rim as injury or flooding could occur.

Do not sit on, climb or straddle the sides of the pool.

Fast Set Pool General Maintenance

General Maintenance

  • The fast set pools need to be set up on level ground.
  • The filter pump should not be used when the pool is in use.
  • To set up, inflate the top ring, and fill with water.
  • When filling the pool, please ensure all creases are removed from the base of the pool
  • To clean the pool, we would recommend using diluted washing up liquid as this is a non-abrasive cleaner
  • For all pools, we recommended using chemicals to keep the water clear, bacteria-free and to avoid algae build-up

Liner Troubleshooting For Bestway Steel Pro Framed Pools

    Reasons Solutions
Liner is punctured (please note punctures are not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty) To locate the puncture on an inflatable liner it is best to apply diluted washing up liquid from a spray bottle to the surface of the whole liner and around the inflation valve. Bubbles should appear where the puncture is located.
To fix a puncture you will require a repair kit. We would suggest using a waterproof repair patch or epoxy vinyl glue.
Leaking Liner Make sure the pool is set up on a level ground surface so the pressure from the water is equal throughout the liner. Also check for any debris or sharp objects which could cause harm. The first thing to check if you suspect the liner is losing water is to monitor the water level by filling it to the maximum line and gauging how quickly it drops. There may be a split seam or issue with the drainage plug causing the leak. If the pool has a filter pump we would suggest checking the hose connections are sealed correctly.
Bulged Liner (Fast Set Pools) Deflate the liner slightly to eliminate the bulging. Please be aware changes in the ambient temperature outside will cause the air inside the liner to expand or contract. On hot summer days we would suggest deflating the pool ring slightly. On colder winter days you may notice the liner looks a little soft and needs some more air.
Discoloration or colour has faded Products such as washing detergent, moisturiser, deodorant, make-up, sun lotion or fake tan can cause discolouration. We would suggest showering before using the pool to avoid this. If the problem does occur you can use washing up liquid, stain remover or miracle pads to remove stains or marks.
We would not advise that the pool is left in direct sunlight. We would suggest setting the pool up in a shaded spot or using a gazebo or canopy to help protect the pool.
The liners have been tested for discolouration due to chemicals and it would need at least 5 times the advised amount of chemicals to cause any bleaching or loss of colour. To avoid this we suggest that the pool is dip tested with the Clearwater test strips daily to check chemical levels.
Mould Mould can occur if the pool is not completely dry when folded or put away. Humidity and dampness can cause mould to grow due to stagnant water.
By keeping the water treated with the correct chemical levels, drying the pool liner completely when it is packed away and maintaining the pool in a clean state when in use you should avoid issues such as this. However, should the problem arise we would advise to use a solution of water and washing up liquid or stain remover to remove the mould.

If the troubleshooting does not resolve the problem, please contact the aftersales team for further advice and so we may assist further. If you are no longer within your warranty period,

Frame Troubleshooting – Rusty / Mis shaped Pool

    Reasons Solutions
Misshapen Pool This is normally caused when the pool is not set up on flat level ground. We would suggest moving the pool to a different site and setting it up again. Leaving it like this can cause a lot of pressure to build on parts of the pool which could cause it to collapse. Please make sure the pool is not set up on gravel, sand, chippings or other uneven ground types. This type of damage is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty so you may need to replace parts.
Bent poles This is normally caused either by the pool not being set up on flat level ground or someone standing or leaning on the frame of the pool. We would suggest moving the pool to a more suitable location. We would also advise that you do not stand on the frame of the pool, the ladder must be used for entering and exiting the pool. This type of damage is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty so you may need to replace parts.
Frame bending inwards This is normal. The pool will bend inwards until the pool has been filled up to 80% capacity. Please see the pool manual for more detailed information and images.
Rusty Frame The frame is covered in a rust resistant coating in order to avoid this. Please make sure the poles are completely dry when they are stored. Any damage to the poles such as scratches or bent parts can cause the coating to crack causing rust. This type of damage is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty so you may need to replace parts.
Poles stuck to liner Please try to remove as many poles as you can from the liner. Photograph any damage to the liner and poles. You will need to contact Bestway Support for further assistance with this issue.

If the troubleshooting does not resolve the problem, please contact the aftersales team for further advise
